Kia ora and welcome to the Nelson Science Society website.

The purpose of the NSS is the advancement and promotion of Science, Technology and the Humanities in the Nelson and Tasman Region. This Society supports, financially or otherwise, the following: 

• talks from local and national  speakers on a wide range of topics of general interest in the fields of Science and Technology,

• grants and sponsorships for organisations or individuals that provide Science and Technology educational opportunities for local schoolchildren, 

• the sponsorship and support of local school educational events such as Science Fairs, 

• grants towards Scholarships for early career scientists and researchers.

The Nelson Science Society is a branch of the Royal Society Te Apārangi.
